The title of my final project is called Hurt Emotions. This piece of art is based on the idea of nonviolent peacemaking and how this idea could have effected my life. The video uses the idea of self reflection from Jeppe Hein and the construction of the montaged clips comes from Christian Marclay. I was able to do this through appropriation. This video uses new vision style photography to record the performers. Each clip was recorded separately. The three performers have a personal connection to what I, as an artist, am voicing. This project is supposed to bring awareness to the problem of violence within society.

In this piece, I had used symbolism. Each object in the suit will repress something coming from the Wu Xing Chart. The live performance art uses choreography and lots of movement. The use of asymmetrical balance and hierarchy gave the suit a little more emphasis. There is a figure-ground relationship within this work of art. The figure would be the sound suit and performer, while the ground would be a projected forest. Each object within the suit all ties into a theme of mourned death. Not wanting to let go. There is a personal connection with this piece because when I loose a loved one, I mourn alone. I find an escape to hide myself so that nobody can see my emotions. The sound suit was made to hide the identity of the person wearing it.
This piece was made using sitra-solve. The piece was based off of the Taoist symbols yin-yang and wu-xing. The various images that were used represent the words; anger, tears, hatred, middle finger, Saturn, human, nose, smell, death, and death.
This accordion-fold timeline was mainly inspired by the styles of Bradbury Thompson and Herb Lubalin. There are map keys on each side of the timeline to explain each era and event. In this project, I used the negative space and map keys to try and create asymmetrical balance within the timeline.
This is my acrylic painting of John Coplan's Body on masonite. I have appropriated Shirana Shahbazi's style of work by using geometric shapes and different hues and values of colors to create outlines and depth to Coplan's Body. This project was a perfect example of how to deal with patience and boosting your confidence in painting.
This animation was created with 40 photographs taken in a sequence. Using a camera to photograph my action, set at a frame rate of 1 photo for every ten seconds, I was able to capture my action. Using a style of photography, New Vision, I filmed with the camera at a 90° angle facing the floor. Using the printed photos, I had created a flip book. Each page was a different image and when the viewer flips through the book, the still photos became a fluent animation. This is possible because of the human's persistence of vision.
Inspired by David Hockney's Photographs, I was able to use chiaroscuro and produce this piece of art work. I used my skills in photography to create this art work. There are twenty-four cropped images. Each individual picture was taken within a specific time. Each photo consisting of different poses.
Complimentary (Red + Green)The color scheme that I used in this photo was complimentary. Red and green are compliments to each other. You may also see another color scheme with the red or green. The monochromatic color scheme appears in the red and green because of the different shades of color in each. Analogous (Rainbow)In this composition, I used the analogous color scheme with a combination of the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. Complimentary (Blue + Orange)For the third site-specific installation, I chose to do another complimentary color scheme with different colors. Blue and orange is another pair of complimentary colors.
IterationsFinal IterationsThese were my different iterations of my biomorphic fragmintation. The objective was to create a more abstract piece in relation to my human face. final CompositionsAbout the ProjectFor this project we had to take pictures of ourselves. Then after we had to print out 8 of our favorite ones and cut them up into weird shapes. I had many iterations when I had to put them together. After we got all our things pasted down on the paper we printed them and painted them. Now I'm not a big fan of painting but this projects was enjoyable. The randomness of it all was a very interesting. I didn't have a plan for how I was going to paint this but the practice paper we had before we painted helped me decide on the shapes and figures you see in the first painting. Overall this project was fun. I got to project my personality onto this project using the paint in a very abstract way.
Documentary Style Ft.(Destin Delavega)The goal of Documentary Style photography is to persuade the viewer of how the image presents the literal truth of the documented occupation. Pictorialist Style Ft.(Destin Delavega)The objective of this style is to have the photographic similar to a religious painting that is "soft-edged." New Vision Style Ft.(Destin Delavega)This style is to photograph a person or object up-close to seem unfamiliar. These photos portray a "new vision" of Destin. Original Style Ft.(Destin Delavega)In the original style, I wanted to take photo that captures more of the same experience that he is. This style does not just focus on one object but many. This allows the viewer to have a greater feel of what the camera has captured.
