The title of my final project is called Hurt Emotions. This piece of art is based on the idea of nonviolent peacemaking and how this idea could have effected my life. The video uses the idea of self reflection from Jeppe Hein and the construction of the montaged clips comes from Christian Marclay. I was able to do this through appropriation. This video uses new vision style photography to record the performers. Each clip was recorded separately. The three performers have a personal connection to what I, as an artist, am voicing. This project is supposed to bring awareness to the problem of violence within society.

This piece was made using sitra-solve. The piece was based off of the Taoist symbols yin-yang and wu-xing. The various images that were used represent the words; anger, tears, hatred, middle finger, Saturn, human, nose, smell, death, and death.
This is my acrylic painting of John Coplan's Body on masonite. I have appropriated Shirana Shahbazi's style of work by using geometric shapes and different hues and values of colors to create outlines and depth to Coplan's Body. This project was a perfect example of how to deal with patience and boosting your confidence in painting.
This animation was created with 40 photographs taken in a sequence. Using a camera to photograph my action, set at a frame rate of 1 photo for every ten seconds, I was able to capture my action. Using a style of photography, New Vision, I filmed with the camera at a 90° angle facing the floor. Using the printed photos, I had created a flip book. Each page was a different image and when the viewer flips through the book, the still photos became a fluent animation. This is possible because of the human's persistence of vision.
Documentary Style Ft.(Destin Delavega)The goal of Documentary Style photography is to persuade the viewer of how the image presents the literal truth of the documented occupation. Pictorialist Style Ft.(Destin Delavega)The objective of this style is to have the photographic similar to a religious painting that is "soft-edged." New Vision Style Ft.(Destin Delavega)This style is to photograph a person or object up-close to seem unfamiliar. These photos portray a "new vision" of Destin. Original Style Ft.(Destin Delavega)In the original style, I wanted to take photo that captures more of the same experience that he is. This style does not just focus on one object but many. This allows the viewer to have a greater feel of what the camera has captured.
In Part 3 of "Thematic Collage", I took an up-close picture of the collage I had made for the tonal composition. The up-close picture was able to have images run off of the picture plane. The color I had chose for this composition was blue. When choosing the different colors for this project, I had changed the tonal values of the blue. Using the color scheme, analogous, It gave me a variety of greens and purples. When I created this piece, I wanted to emphasize the more meaningful color scheme to me, which is complimentary. The color complimenting blue is orange. The two biggest shapes on my piece are blue and orange because I wanted the viewer to notice them fist.
In Part 1 of "Thematic Collage", my words that I had based my artwork on were Unemotional, Destructible, and Recollection. I had chose objects based on synonyms of my chosen words and I was able to find images that best fit them. For example, a synonym for unemotional would be cold or frigid. I chose to use a fridge in mine to relate to "cold." The layout of my final composition (bottom) shows implied lines and motion. I was able to achieve this through space between objects and object orientation.
