The title of my final project is called Hurt Emotions. This piece of art is based on the idea of nonviolent peacemaking and how this idea could have effected my life. The video uses the idea of self reflection from Jeppe Hein and the construction of the montaged clips comes from Christian Marclay. I was able to do this through appropriation. This video uses new vision style photography to record the performers. Each clip was recorded separately. The three performers have a personal connection to what I, as an artist, am voicing. This project is supposed to bring awareness to the problem of violence within society.

In this piece, I had used symbolism. Each object in the suit will repress something coming from the Wu Xing Chart. The live performance art uses choreography and lots of movement. The use of asymmetrical balance and hierarchy gave the suit a little more emphasis. There is a figure-ground relationship within this work of art. The figure would be the sound suit and performer, while the ground would be a projected forest. Each object within the suit all ties into a theme of mourned death. Not wanting to let go. There is a personal connection with this piece because when I loose a loved one, I mourn alone. I find an escape to hide myself so that nobody can see my emotions. The sound suit was made to hide the identity of the person wearing it.
This piece was made using sitra-solve. The piece was based off of the Taoist symbols yin-yang and wu-xing. The various images that were used represent the words; anger, tears, hatred, middle finger, Saturn, human, nose, smell, death, and death.
This accordion-fold timeline was mainly inspired by the styles of Bradbury Thompson and Herb Lubalin. There are map keys on each side of the timeline to explain each era and event. In this project, I used the negative space and map keys to try and create asymmetrical balance within the timeline.
This is my acrylic painting of John Coplan's Body on masonite. I have appropriated Shirana Shahbazi's style of work by using geometric shapes and different hues and values of colors to create outlines and depth to Coplan's Body. This project was a perfect example of how to deal with patience and boosting your confidence in painting.
This animation was created with 40 photographs taken in a sequence. Using a camera to photograph my action, set at a frame rate of 1 photo for every ten seconds, I was able to capture my action. Using a style of photography, New Vision, I filmed with the camera at a 90° angle facing the floor. Using the printed photos, I had created a flip book. Each page was a different image and when the viewer flips through the book, the still photos became a fluent animation. This is possible because of the human's persistence of vision.
While I was going through the thought process in creating this project, I wanted to create something based off of Max Ernest's "Mechanism of Collage" essay. Putting two objects together that would not usually be together was the base of this installation. The idea of ripping apart the barbie and using balance to achieve a different perspective really pushed me to paste the different limbs in various areas. I loved the idea of installing my assisted readymade artwork in front Studio Angelico to emphasize the fact that it is art.
