In Part 3 of "Thematic Collage", I took an up-close picture of the collage I had made for the tonal composition. The up-close picture was able to have images run off of the picture plane. The color I had chose for this composition was blue. When choosing the different colors for this project, I had changed the tonal values of the blue. Using the color scheme, analogous, It gave me a variety of greens and purples. When I created this piece, I wanted to emphasize the more meaningful color scheme to me, which is complimentary. The color complimenting blue is orange. The two biggest shapes on my piece are blue and orange because I wanted the viewer to notice them fist.

In this project, we took away a lot of detail away from the original images. With this being said, I was able to form hybrid shapes by putting two different shapes of the same color together to make a whole other shape. But if I overlapped a shape on another of different color, I was able to subtract from that shape. The different tones of each individual shape creates more of a color perspective on the picture plane.
In Part 1 of "Thematic Collage", my words that I had based my artwork on were Unemotional, Destructible, and Recollection. I had chose objects based on synonyms of my chosen words and I was able to find images that best fit them. For example, a synonym for unemotional would be cold or frigid. I chose to use a fridge in mine to relate to "cold." The layout of my final composition (bottom) shows implied lines and motion. I was able to achieve this through space between objects and object orientation.
The "WORDS" project was more of like Barbara Kruger's "Belief + Doubt" made in 2012. In the process of creating this project. I had went back and forth from 2d to 3d and then back to 2d. I printed off my selected bold fonts onto a 2d paper and then cut the paper to form a 3d sculpture. I used the method of hatching and cross hatching to create a type of value and pictorial depth. When making my second iteration, I had used a different media to try and get the image to pop more off of the page.
While I was going through the thought process in creating this project, I wanted to create something based off of Max Ernest's "Mechanism of Collage" essay. Putting two objects together that would not usually be together was the base of this installation. The idea of ripping apart the barbie and using balance to achieve a different perspective really pushed me to paste the different limbs in various areas. I loved the idea of installing my assisted readymade artwork in front Studio Angelico to emphasize the fact that it is art.
